David's day job now is only
part time and he works as a Project Leader within
the IT department of a Local Government organisation.
He is responsible for the maintenance and development
of various computer systems. He is due to finally
retire in approximately a year from now but that might
be sooner or it might be later.
He attempts to play the violin and has always occupied
a desk in the 2nd violin section of the orchestra.
He has no aspirations to play in the 1st violin section
- once a second fiddler always a second fiddler!!
He has played with the CO since the beginning of 1982
and has played in every concert at home and abroad
bar one in that time. He has also been the CO treasurer
since July 1986 and is therefore in his twentieth
year of the job which surprise to relate he actually
enjoys - most of the time!!
He also plays in The Loughborough Orchestra - again
as a second violin.
He has various other hobbies/interests. He enjoys
doing crosswords both cryptic and general knowledge,
jigsaw puzzles, gardening including messing about
in a fairly recently acquired greenhouse, DIY but
not the whole gamut and woodwork (when he gets the
time).
Outside of the CO He has been the Treasurer to the
village Scout Group for very nearly 25 years.
