Mark's day job is that of office manager of a fencing contracting company: " a much harder job than the title might suggest!". Like Jon, his wife Hazel plays flute with the Charnwood Orchestra when we need extra players. Their children look set to supply the musical world of the future: Sam, aged 12 plays guitar to grade 5 and alto sax to grade 2; Rowan, aged 8, has just taken piano grade 1; Olivia, aged 3 doesn't play anything yet but has just been in her first ballet dancing show. Mark and Hazel live in Loughborough so the journey time to rehearsals is only 10 minutes. Mark has been with Charnwood Orchestra for 15 years and he is also a founder member of Loughborough Orchestra and of Derventio Brass (a 10-piece brass ensemble based in Derby). He also plays for Riff's Big Band based in Melton as well as various amateur dramatic shows.
