Nick Carter

After working as a Sociology teacher in Further Education for many years, Nick retrained, and became accredited as a psychotherapist in 2002. He now works from home in private practice, and in local agencies, offering therapy for clients, and supervision to colleagues.

In the Charnwood Orchestra, Nick plays second flute, and piccolo as required. He's been a member for a very long time - almost a founder member. He enjoys the challenge (and surprise) of new repertoire. Recently, he joined a small group playing for pantomime.

Nick's life seems to be surrounded with music. His wife, Lou, is a musician and all three children play instuments. Lou played in our Scotland tour as a viola player (not her usual instrument!).

In his leisure time, Nick enjoys the contrast of wandering around the garden, doing not much, except perhaps sometimes planting onions and other veg, and feeding the chickens. He also likes walking and cycling, and making things out of wood.
