Steve
and Linda are yet another couple whose marriage owes
quite a lot to Charnwood Orchestra!
Steve (playing violin) and Linda (playing viola) had
met through music in the mid-1970s, playing in the
LSSO.
They lost touch through the college years but then
met up again at a Charnwood Orchestra rehearsal in
the early 1980s.
They subsequently married and moved to London to further
their careers. Throughout their time in London, they
played in the Lambeth Orchestra. In 1996, they returned
to Leicestershire to live in Thrussington and have
been regular members of C.O. ever since.
Steve is an IT consultant who specialises in banking
and fund management computer systems. He currently
works for HSBC with an office near Tower Bridge in
the City of London. His work includes training people
in the use of systems, diagnosing systems errors and
liaising with software houses to keep systems running
smoothly.
Daily commuting is a trial but he tries to work from
home on Thursdays so that he can get to Charnwood
Orchestra rehearsals on time!
Linda is a primary school teacher and is currently
doing supply teaching in schools close to home.
Linda and Steve have two children who are both active
musicians: Sian (15) plays violin in the Leicestershire
Arts Training Orchestra and Nick (13) plays french
horn in the Training Band.
