Sue Wilcox

Sue is "head cook and bottle-washer" for about 40 nursery school children in Syston, aged from 6 weeks to 4½ years.

She provides breakfast, dinner (their favourite is roast) and tea. She enjoys the job and knows all the children.

Sue plays violin, happily playing first or second. She's played for 6 years with Charnwood Orchestra, including trips to Dublin and France.
She plays regularly in two other orchestras as well as in the pit orchestra for local amateur dramatic societies.

She says she hasn't got time for any other hobbies. We are fortunate that Sue is playing with us: Having played since the age of 7, she put her violin in a cupboard when her two daughters were born and there it stayed for fifteen years.

The teenage girls are not musical but she says that there is always music of some description in her house in Queniborough. (I can imagine it!)

Sue says she's really glad that she dusted off her violin after all those years. She has met up with a lot of old friends and made a lot of new ones.
