
Warren was born in Vancouver, Canada in 1975 and began
playing the violin at the age of 3. At age 13, he
commenced advanced studies with Miss Gwen Thompson
(a pupil of Gingold, Galamian & Heifetz) at the
Vancouver Academy of Music, and much success followed.
At the age of only 16, Warren was the youngest ever
Leader of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada.
In 1994 Warren moved to London where he completed
his BMus (Hons) degree at the Royal College of Music
with Dr. Felix Andrievsky & Catherine Macintosh
(baroque violin). There he won an Exhibition scholarship,
2 Concerto trials and several Major Violin prizes.
He was Leader of the RCM Sinfonietta, Symphony and
Opera Orchestras and was also leader of the RCM
Contemporary Music Ensemble.
Warren has been working professionally in London from
the age of 21, and has performed and recorded with
the English Chamber Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra,
Britten Sinfonia, BBC Symphony & BBC Concert Orchestras,
the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the John Wilson
Orchestra. As a Baroque violinist, Warren has performed
with ensembles such as the New London Consort, La
Serenissima, Gabrielli Consort, Musicians of the Globe,
Avison Ensemble and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
Concertos with Orchestra include performances of the
Brahms, Brahms Double, Glazunov, Kabalevsky, Mendelssohn,
Prokofiev D Major, Sibelius, Tchaikovsky and Korngold
Violin Concertos. Warren is also an avid Chamber Music
player, and is currently involved in 2 exciting String
Quartet projects. Recent Recital performances include
the complete cycle of Beethoven's Violin Sonatas with
Pianist Simon Watterton.
For the last 10 years, Warren has been one of the
busiest Session Violinists in London. Film Credits
include Shakespeare in Love, James Bond, Harry Potter,
The Lord of The Rings, Shrek, and the recent Batman
Films. Popular music highlights include albums for
Sting, Madonna, David Gilmour and Joni Mitchell's
epic "Both Sides Now" arranged by Vince
Mendoza. Warren is also a regular soloist on the BBC's
"Strictly Come Dancing".
Performances have so far taken Warren to Australia,
Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, England, France,
Germany, Holland, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands,
New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey
and the USA. In April, Warren will be performing
the spectacular Rozsa Violin Concerto with the Phoenix
Orchestra in St. Johns Smith Square.
